What distinguishes us from others is that all our Courses and Retreats are taught by qualified teachers, who teach in accordance with the Kadampa tradition, which teachings can be traced back all the way to Buddha Shakyamuni. Without qualified meditation teachers guiding and inspiring us we have no opportunity to meet Buddhas teachings or learn to integrate them into our busy modern lives.

Gaining Spiritual Protection: Introduction to Heart Jewel Prayers (Course and Prayer Retreat) - Saturday, 21th September
The Heart Jewel practice is the very essence of the New Kadampa Tradition of Mahayana Buddhism. If we practice Heart Jewel regularly and sincerely, we will reap a rich harvest of pure Dharma realizations or insights, that will bring great meaning to our life.
By relying upon this practice, we can purify negativity, accumulate merit, and receive Buddha’s powerful blessings. In this way, we will naturally accomplish all the realizations of the stages of the path of Sutra and Tantra and eventually attain the supreme happiness of full enlightenment.
The Science of Happiness - Saturday, 28th September
Buddha explained that through developing the capacity of our minds we can immensely increase our happiness. In this weekend course you will learn to identify the causes of happiness and suffering from within, and feel empowered to make wisdom and joy your daily experience. This engaging, practical talk will be a great introduction for those who are new to meditation and modern Buddhist teachings.
Developing a Meditation Toolkit - Saturday, 5th October
The function of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful. Usually we find it difficult to control our mind. It seems as if our mind is like a balloon in the wind – blown here and there by external circumstances. By training in meditation, we create an inner space and clarity that enables us to control our mind regardless of the external circumstances. Gradually we will develop a balanced mind that is happy all the time.
On this course we will explore how to meditate, how to develop a daily meditation practice and how to integrate this into your daily life.
Freedom from Suffering: Medicine Buddha Healing Body & Mind (Chanted Prayer Retreat) - Saturday, 19th October
Medicine Buddha is a Buddha Doctor whose function is to release living beings from outer and inner sickness by bestowing blessings upon them. By relying upon Medicine Buddha sincerely, we can be cured of heavy physical and mental disease, find release from the internal pain of the three poisons – attachment, anger and ignorance – and receive protection from many other dangers and obstacles.
Since beginningless time, we have experienced the pain of the three poisons and all the sufferings to which they give rise. Now, by relying upon this Buddha Doctor through the Medicine Buddha Sadhana, we can be released from this pain forever.

Stress and irritation are endemic in our busy, fast paced life. Buddha taught that all our unhappiness, stress and irritation comes from our mind. More specifically it comes from our unrealistic expectations and our exaggerated views of ourself, people around us and the world in general.By learning to identify the actual causes of stress and unhappy thoughts, we can begin to understand how to become free from them. On this course we will explore special ways of thinking and meditations that heal the mind of the source of these problems.

Making Every Moment Count: A Day Retreat on Death Awareness - Saturday, 2nd November
We are alive, therefore we will die. This is the simplest, most obvious truth of our existence, yet very few of us have really come to terms with this fact. Buddha gave extensive teachings on the death process, and on how to use an awareness of our death to live a more full and meaningful life.
In Living Meaningfully, Dying Joyfully, Geshe Kelsang explains the importance of contemplating and planning for our own death. If we do so, “when death actually comes we shall feel like a child returning to the home of its parents, and pass away joyfully, without fear.”
Half day Retreat Long Life, Good Fortune & Wisdom (Chanted Prayer Retreat) - Saturday, 16th November
Through making prayers to White Tara she bestows upon us long life, good fortune and wisdom. We need a long life to complete our spiritual practice, we need wisdom to free ourselves and others from our daily pain and problems and we need good fortune or positive energy to achieve a long-lasting experience of inner peace and happiness. Gen Kelsang Mila will be guiding this Retreat, deepening our connection with White Tara and receiving her care and protection
