A puja is a chanted meditation and is a special method for purifying our mind, accumulating positive mental energy, or merit, and receiving the blessings of the holy beings.

The principal practice of The New Kadampa Tradition is the Guru yoga of Je Tsongkhapa. In this context, ‘Guru’ refers to our Spiritual Guide, and ‘yoga’ means a special way of seeing. We make prayers and requests to Je Tsongkhapa, regarding him as inseperable from our Spiritual Guide.

We perform this puja every Friday at the Centre in conjunction with the sadhana of Dorje Shugdän, the Dharma Protector associated with Je Tsongkhapa. This puja is called Wishfulling Jewel. Everyone is welcome to come along and join in. Please bring food offerings, which we will enjoy together after the prayers.
