Lacking self-confidence or self-esteem is something that we all experience at one time or another. When we lack self-confidence we feel discouraged and fail to see any potential within ourselves. If we wish to develop stable self-confidence it cannot be based upon superficial things like reputation, external accomplishments, status, or praise from others. Although these may temporarily lift us up and make us feel better about ourselves if we are unable to obtain them, or are separated from them (which is inevitable because they are impermanent), we shall soon lose our feeling of self-confidence. On this half day course we will look at how we can use Buddhist meditation to develop authentic and stable self-confidence based upon our spiritual potential – something that is indestructible and innate within each of us.
