What distinguishes us from others is that all our Courses and Retreats are taught by qualified teachers, who teach in accordance with the Kadampa tradition, which teachings can be traced back all the way to Buddha Shakyamuni. Without qualified meditation teachers guiding and inspiring us we have no opportunity to meet Buddhas teachings or learn to integrate them into our busy modern lives.

Guru Yoga and Mandala Offering Retreat - 16th - 17th June
Practicing Guru Yoga sincerely is relying on the Spiritual Guide, the root of the spiritual path. Guru Yoga is an especially powerful method that enables us to receive the blessings of all the Buddha’s and greatly increases our store of merit. Guru Yoga is a special method for receiving the blessings of all the Buddha’s and Holy Beings and making mandala offerings is a special method to accumulate a vast amount of merit (positive karma/energy). Developing faith in our Spiritual Guide is like the sun shining on the snow mountain of our Spiritual Guide causing the water-like blessings to pour into our consciousness. Our mind is like a field. Purifying negative karma and accumulating merit are like clearing the field of obstructions and fertilizing it, and meditating on the stages of the path is like sowing good seeds. However, these seeds will grow into a harvest of realizations only if they are watered by a rain of blessings from the Yidams and Buddha’s. Practicing Guru Yoga is the means by which we receive these blessings.

Happiness, Success & the Law of Karma - Sunday, 30th June
Why are some people naturally happy and successful, while others experience problems and obstacles? Why is it that when we get what we want, we often fail to derive satisfaction from having it? Why is contentment and good fortune elusive, while difficulties arise effortlessly? How can I change this situation?
Buddha gave clear answers to all these questions in his teaching on the law of karma. On this day course this universal law and how to live in accordance with it will be explained. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how to create good fortune and eliminate problems at their root.
The Fundamentals of Buddhism - Saturday, 13th
2,500 years after the passing of Buddha, his example and teachings still resonate. This half-day course will explain the essential principles of the Buddhist way of life and how we can gain personal benefit from applying these teachings in our busy modern life. We will also learn how we can use meditation as a tool for developing good qualities such as inner peace, love and compassion.
This course is perfectly suited for those developing an interest in Buddhism as well as those who simply wish to lead their life with more meaning, wisdom and compassion.
Mala Making & the Power of Mantra - Saturday, 27th July
Mantra means mind protection. It is the supreme method to enhance the qualities of our body and mind. For centuries, mantra recitation has been used to attain a peaceful and happy mind by pacifying the negative thoughts that give rise to our suffering.
On this day course the meaning of mantra and instructions on how to combine mantra recitation with breathing meditation will be explained. This is a simple and powerful method to attain a calm, controlled and positive mind and is ultimately the cause of the supreme inner peace of enlightenment.
Parenting & Patience - Saturday, 31st August
Is it possible to be confident and relaxed as a parent instead of feeling stressed, overwhelmed and second guessing yourself all the time? Learning to apply simple meditation techniques, and using mindfulness, we can experience a place of calm inside even when our family life is busy, difficult or completely chaotic. Practically, if we develop a peaceful mind and our inner wisdom, this will give us the skill and confidence that we need to bring harmony, and happiness to our family life.
In this course Laurie will use both her own experience as a parent and Buddha’s time-tested teachings to share insights that you can use right now to help yourself and your family be healthy and positive.
