SPECIAL CLOSE RETREAT – Guru Sumati Buddha Heruka with Gen Kelsang Mila

COLLECTING 100,000 GURU SUMATI BUDDHA HERUKA MANTRAS.

Gen Kelsang Mila will give some guidance during the first two days of this special close retreat, thereafter the sessions will be self guided. There will be an opportunity to ask questions during the tea break in the afternoons. The Retreat will follow the oral instructions transmitted directly from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche to Gen-la Dekyong, as shared at the International NKT Spring Festival 2022 in Málaga. Together in this very powerful and blessed close retreat, we will draw closer and closer to our root Guru, and create very powerful actions that will cause Kadam Dharma to flourish in our hearts and throughout the world. There is no better offering to repay our Guru’s kindness.

Daily Sessions:

09:00 – 10:30 

11:30 – 13:00 

14:00 – 15:30 

17:00 – 18:30 

Drop-in Sessions: 

If you cannot do an entire Close Retreat, but are simply counting 100 000 mantras as part of your Guru Yoga Preliminary Guide, you may join the Center during sessions as you are able. Please be mindful that specific seats are reserved for retreat participants.

Participants can choose to attend either At Home or at VKBC (1 location only)

• Full Retreat in person at VKBC
• Full Retreat at home: no charge

DOING A CLOSE RETREAT

• Count 100k mantras of Guru Sumati Buddha Heruka:
•                 OM GURU SUMATI BUDDHA HERUKA SARWA SIDDHI HUM
• Complete the entire retreat either at home or VKBC  (all sessions must be done on the same cushion)
• Count 10k mantras with Vajradaka Burning Offering (outdoors or indoors)

Please note: Although 3 weeks have been set aside to engage in this retreat it is possible to complete the retreat in a shorter time, depending on individual wishes and capacity.

In Person at Vajrapani Kadampa Buddhist Center

The Woods, 345 Jan Smuts Ave,, Upper level, Craighall Park, 2196

Please use the Rothesay Avenue entrance to the parking lot. Park at Baby City and use those steps to come up to the upper level courtyard.

Please arrive a few minutes before the event starts to register and settle in.  We have a book shop to browse, water on sale, and it is helpful to bring a pen and notebook if you would like to take notes. There is secure and ample parking.
