In Person Meditation Classes

From  Sunday 4th October, we are starting to open our doors for people to attend in-person meditation classes.

Our classes at the Colony, will have limited attendance, so before booking your ticket please email Sue, our EPC (Education program Co-Ordinator ) at epc@meditation.org.za to confirm your attendance.

The Beauty of Patience

Sometimes, we feel that things in our life are just going wrong. We encounter difficult situations, we can’t control them, and we feel that the situation itself is the problem. As a result, our state of mind is precarious, always at the mercy of the next thing that happens. How can we change this without just swallowing our feelings of frustration and anger?

Buddha taught practical methods to practice true patience – a way to accept whatever happens, without becoming unhappy and without repressing our feelings. By using these methods we will develop a deep inner peace that cannot be disturbed by changing conditions. We can still fix things that break and work to change the world for the better, but we will be able to do so from a place of peace rather than agitation.

Looking into the Mirror of Dharma

What to expect at a class?

Each class begins with a meditation to settle the mind, a short talk on a particular topic and a meditation to conclude to take the meaning into our heart and carry that intention into our daily life, informing all our actions.

Each class is self-contained.

The teachings are based on Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s latest book, The Mirror of Dharma With Additions.

The Liberating Prayer and the book The Mirror of Dharma With Additions are available in our book shop.
