A Walk for World Peace

Help Us Create a Permanent Home for Peace in the City

Our meditation centre has become a refuge for many — a peaceful space where people from all walks of life come to learn meditation, find relief from stress, and discover the timeless wisdom of modern Kadampa Buddhism.

Now, we’re taking the next step: creating a dedicated urban temple — a permanent spiritual home in the heart of the city, open to everyone who wants to learn how to develop inner peace and lasting happiness.

This temple will offer:
A peaceful environment for meditation and spiritual practice
Public talks, classes, and retreats to benefit the whole community
A place of refuge and meaning in a busy, often overwhelming world.

We need your help to make this vision a reality. As a registered non-profit, we rely entirely on the kindness and generosity of people like you.

Every donation — big or small — brings us one step closer to opening the doors of this temple to all.

Together, let’s build a place where anyone can come to reconnect, recharge, and find peace within.

We kick off by inviting everyone, including furry friends, to Walk for World Peace, followed by light picnic snacks provided at the dam.

*** Please note there will be no ticket sales at the event.

If you would like to paint a stone  for peace (we will provide), join us on Saturday 8th November 11:00 – 13:00 at the Centre or bring one from home and you can place it on Klippie, the stone snake at Delta Park. 

Fundraising Target: R100,000 by: October 2026

Cause: Funding for a deposit for a Permanent Home, a new VKBC Dharma Centre for Peace in the City

Our lease at The Woods ends in 2027, so the planning phase is starting. We look forward to your response and feedback or assistance in making this project a huge success!
